Bond County Transit Rates Increasing


Bond County Transit will be increasing rider rates next month.

Transit Executive Director Jill Ohnesorge said the fares went up July 1st. Rides for children age 1 to 12 will now be 41 per ride in the Greenville city limits and $2 for county rides. Adult prices go from $1.75 to $2 within the city limits and from $3.50 to $4 for county rides. Those 60 and older will still be charged $1.50 per ride in town, but county rates will go from $3.50 to $4. For information on pass pricing, call 664-9844, x101.

The child fare in the city increases 25 cents per ride to $1.

The executive director said, in addition to cash, transit users have a variety of methods to pay for rides, including a prepaid pass and checks. Credit/debit cards are not accepted.
