Excessive Heat Warning For WGEL Listening Area

Dangerous heat is upon the WGEL listening area. The National Weather Service has issued an Excessive Heat Warning for the entire WGEL listening area through at least 8 PM Saturday. High temperatures are expected to continue during thta time, with heat index values between 105 and 110 each day between 1:00 and 7:00 PM.

Make sure to avoid strenuous activity during the warmest part of the day, spend time in air conditioning, and drink plenty of water. The elderly and chronically ill people are especially susceptible to heat related illness, so check on them often. Never leave children or pets in an un-air conditioned car as temperatures can reach lethal levels in minutes.
