GU Senior Killed In Traffic Crash

A Greenville University student athlete from Nashville, Illinois was killed in a traffic crash Monday in Missouri.

Allyson Grabowski, age 21, was a three-year letter winner on the Lady Panthers’ volleyball team and would have been a senior this fall at Greenville University.

Missouri Highway Patrol reported the crash occurred at 12:25 p.m. Monday on Interstate 33, one mile west of Bourbon, Missouri.

Police advised Grabowski was westbound and lost control of her car. It travelled off the interstate, crossed the median and went onto the north outer road where it collided with a vehicle driven by a Missouri man. He received injuries.

Grabowski had a 3.99 grade point average at G.U. and was majoring in biology and chemistry, with plans to enter medical school.

She was on the volleyball all-conference third team last season and was a two-time member of the all-conference academic team.
