Joyce M. Gaffner, age 90 of Highland, IL, died Friday, July 05, 2019, at Highland Health Care Center in Highland, IL.
She was born on Saturday, December 08, 1928, in Mulberry Grove, IL, the daughter of Fred and Edith (nee Spradling) Pryor.
On Sunday, November 20, 1949, she married Lester O. Gaffner at Greenville, IL, who passed away on Tuesday, February 16, 1999.
She was a member of First Baptist Church, Highland, IL, treasurer at First Baptist Church for many years.
Joyce was born and grew up in Mulberry Grove, IL. She graduated from Mulberry Grove High School. She moved to Greenville and worked at Bond County Abstract & Title Co. After her marriage, she and her husband moved to Wyanet, IL in 1956, where her husband worked for AT&T. They moved to Highland, IL in 1963, because of AT&T, her husband maintained the microwave tower north of town near Silver Lake. She worked as a secretary at the Highland Elementary School for 21 years. In her earlier years she enjoyed camping and fishing. She also liked playing bridge, Pegs and Jokers, and Dominos.

Interment will be at Mount Auburn Cemetery in Greenville, IL.
