Martha E. Goodall, age 91 of Greenville, passed away late Friday evening, July 12, 2019 at Greenville Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Greenville, Illinois.
Graveside funeral services will be held 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, July 17, 2019 at Mt. Auburn Cemetery in Greenville with Rev. Curtis Flake officiating. The family welcomes family and friends to join them at the cemetery. Memorials may be made at the Donnell – Wiegand Funeral Home in Greenville or at the service to the American Farm Heritage Museum.
Martha Emogene, the daughter of Charles H. and Florence E. Young Ward, was born August 26, 1927 in Bond County. Martha attended the Hookdale School and graduated from Mulberry Grove High School with the class of 1945.
Martha was married to Farris Wingo, they later got a divorce. She moved back to Greenville in the early 1970’s. On May 28, 1978 she married Bill Goodall in Greenville. They enjoyed several years together before his passing away.
She worked for Brown Shoe Company and Royal Shoe Company while living in Missouri and Arkansas. After returning to Greenville she worked for LuAllen, Cearlock and Barth, Ltd. from 1976-1999.
Martha was a member of the First United Methodist Church and Melrose Rebekah Lodge #14, being inducted as Noble Grand in 1978.
She is survived by a host of family, nieces and nephews, Goodall family and grandchildren, including her brother Don Ward and wife Jan of Loda, Illinois. Martha is preceded in death by her parents, husbands, daughter Sharon Wingo Churchill, brother Jim Ward, and sisters Evelyn Knutt and Melba Donaldson.
