Police Investigate Thefts From Fair Buildings

Greenville Police are investigating the theft of several items from two buildings on the Bond County Fairgrounds.

On Saturday, July 20th, it was discovered the several items had been taken from the 4-H building on the fairgrounds midway. The value of the miscellaneous items totaled just under $500. Police told WGEL shortly before that discovery, the building near the Quarter Midget Association racetrack on the fairgrounds was also entered and several items were stolen. Those have since been recovered. Police said the incidents are possibly related.

Police also told WGEL there is a lot of traffic at the fairgrounds and if any motorists or pedestrians notice buildings being open at odd times or anything else that seems unusual, they are encouraged to call the police at 664-2131.
