Richard E. Kissiar, age 58 of Mulberry Grove, passed away 1:03 p.m. Tuesday, July 23, 2019 at his home, after a long battle with cancer.
Funeral services will be held 1:00 p.m. Saturday, July 27, at the Donnell – Wiegand Funeral Home in Mulberry Grove, Illinois. Pastor Matt Mendenhall officiating. Visitation will be held 10:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. Saturday at the Donnell – Wiegand Funeral Home in Mulberry Grove. Interment will follow in Mulberry Grove Cemetery. Richard “Bosco” Edward Kissiar was born December 29, 1960 in Vandalia, Illinois. He was the son of Clyde Edwin and Tressie (Mayberry) Kissiar. He grew up in Bond County and attended the Mulberry Grove Schools. Richard was married to Lori Martin, they later divorced. He loved cars and was a talented mechanic. Richard worked for Crouch Auto Body for many years and then Ayers Auto. In his free time, you could find him hunting, fishing, tinkering around building something or spending time with his little buddy Mason Snow who lived next door or his faithful 4-legged companion Sam.
Richard is survived by his 2 sons: Justin Kissiar of Greenville and Robbie Kissiar of Greenville and a granddaughter Olivia Kissiar. He was one of 11 children: surviving are his sisters: Francis Kissiar of Dwight, Illinois, Ethel Kious of Dwight, Illinois, Laverna Kempfer of Sparta, Illinois, Millie Eggemeyer and husband Sam of Walsh, Illinois and Connie Stoecklin and husband Jim of Greenville, Illinois, brothers: Don Kissiar of Dwight, Illinois and Ron Kissiar of Woburn, Illinois. Also surviving are a host of nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents and 3 siblings: Wink Kissiar, Clete Kissiar and Phoebe Kempfer.
