Shimoji Coffee is coming to Greenville.

At Tuesday night’s meeting, the Greenville City Council approved a lease with the Vandalia business at property the city purchased in March at 100 East Harris Avenue, just east of Kahuna’s.

The drive-through building will be moved to that location from Vandalia. The property was most recently the site of Hayes Motors.

Greenville City Manager Dave Willey said the drive-up coffee booth would be moving into a permanent building in Vandalia, which frees up the current kiosk to move to Greenville. He believes the two year lease, with an option to buy, will be signed soon and the business will move within 90 days.

Shimoji Coffee was established in 2016.

When the city bought the property about four months ago, Mayor Alan Gaffner said it was done to have greater control of the land for economic development purposes.
