Test Drive Event Generates Funds For Comets Sports

The Ford Drive 4 UR School Fundraiser for the Comets Sports Boosters Club was very successful.

Through the sponsorship of Tri-Ford in Highland, the Sports Boosters received checks totaling $4,210.

The test drive event was held May 3 at the high school.

Area residents were invited to test drive a new vehicle and the club received a set amount per drive. In addition, the club received bonus money for driving an Edge car.

Approximately 1280 people participated.

Eric Rehkemper, dealer principal at Tri-Ford, said the dealership and Ford are pleased to provide the fundraising program to the Comets Sports Boosters.

The checks were presented Tuesday morning by Rehkemper and Mike Huber, Tri-Ford business manager, to Club Secretary Jeff Leidel.

The Comets Sports Boosters Club supports all sports groups at Bond County Unit 2 high school.
