Unit Two Personnel Action

Personnel matters were addressed by the Bond County Unit 2 Board of Education at its meeting Wednesday night.

The board accepted the retirement of Dolly Carrell as a teacher’s aide at Greenville Elementary School, effective the end of the 2020-2021 school year.

Jennifer Mitchell was hired as the district payroll and benefits secretary beginning July 1. She will work 265 days per year in the position.

Mitchell, who has been employed in the unit office for 10 years, is currently accounts payable and benefits secretary. Position changes are occurring due to an upcoming retirement in the unit office.

The board accepted the resignations of Ariel Snider as a kindergarten aide at the elementary school, Breanna Sasse as a Kindergarten Readiness Program teacher’s aide, and Terry Swalley as high school freshman girls basketball coach. Swalley was recently hired as the high school boys’ freshman basketball coach.

The new freshman girls’ basketball coach is Joshua Cox. He is a special education teacher at Greenville Junior High School.

Allison Smith was hired as the Pocahontas School food service manager, and Bill Carpenter will serve as an assistant golf coach at the high school. He is also assistant principal at Greenville Elementary.
