Virginia E. “Ginny” Schuerman, age 84 of Highland, IL, died Sunday, July 07, 2019, at Faith Care Center in Highland, IL.

She was born on March 19, 1935, in Seattle, WA, the daughter of William and Nora (nee Keegan) Elmslie.

On September 16, 1955, she married Earl H. Schuerman at Spokane, WA, he passed away on February 19, 2015.

She was a member of Highland Women’s Club and attended Salem UCC in Alhambra, IL.

Ginny was born in Seattle , WA and grew up in Spokane. It was there she met her true love at a USO Dance, and the married shortly after meeting. Ginny was a homemaker and traveled with her husbands US Air Force career. They lived in Germany and France and 8 different states. She loved travel and visited 49 states. She and her husband moved to Highland in 1991 and loved living in the Highland community. She was a avid reader, a painter and loved her coffee. She also liked watching game shows on TV and was very devoted to her family.

Grandchild – Ian A. Oberholtzer, Brooklyn, NY
Grandchild – Kaitlin E. Oberholtzer, Orlando, FL

She was preceded in death by :
Father – William L. Elmslie
Mother – Nora I. Elmslie nee Keegan
Husband – Retired Msgt. USAF Earl H. Schuerman – Died 2/19/2015
Sister – Barbara Carrington

Arrangements are being handled by Spengel-Boulanger Funeral Home in Highland, IL.

Visitation will be held from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM on Wednesday, July 10, 2019, at Spengel-Boulanger Funeral Home in Highland, IL and from 8:00 AM to 10:00 AM on Thursday, July 11, 2019, at Spengel-Boulanger Funeral Home in Highland, IL.

Funeral service will be at 10:00 AM on Thursday, July 11, 2019, at Spengel-Boulanger Funeral Home in Highland, IL, with Rev. John Mindrup officiating.

Interment will be at New Douglas City Cemetery in New Douglas, IL.

Memorial contributions may be made to Wounded Warrior Project American Cancer Society.
