The Bond County Talent Show Thursday night was bigger than in recent years with a total of 15 contestants.
There were 12 in the junior division, consisting of those 14 and younger, and three in the senior division, which is for youths 15 to 21.
In the junior division, Rylee Waters of Greenville won first place with her dance routine. She is the 13-year-old daughter of Chad and Rebecca Waters of Greenville.
Winning the senior division was 16-year-old Kyra Wells of Greenville. She won with a vocal performance. Kyra is the daughter of Adam and Elena Wells.
Both girls will represent the Bond County Fair in the state contests in Springfield this January.
Also receiving trophies in the junior division were Ada Jefferson, age 10, second place; and Laia Klein, age 14. Both are from Greenville. Ada played the ukulele and sang, and Klein sang a song.
The other two contestants in the senior division also sang songs. Second place went to 15-year-old Nathaniel Williams of Sorento and placing third was 16-year-old Olivia Koehne of Greenville.
