The flood that hit this area on August 12 forced Bond County Unit 2 to make temporary changes in where some Kindergarten Readiness Program classes would meet.
Flooding at the renovated Early Childhood Center along Rt. 140 led to the use of the building being postponed for three KRP classes.
It was announced at Monday’s school board meeting, the Greenville First Presbyterian Church along Idler Lane will be the location of the three classes beginning Wednesday, August 21.
Superintendent Wes Olson said the Early Childhood Center would have been opened in time for school if not for the rain, thanks to the hard work of district staff. Olson expressed his thanks to the Presbyterian Church for offering space and to the Regional Office of Education for their assistance and guidance.
