$18,318 Raised In 2019 Pie Auction

Another WGEL Great Celebrity Pie Auction is in the history books and it was a banner year!

On Thursday, we hosted Bond County State’s Attorney Dora Mann, Lady Comets Basketball Coach Kolin Dothager & Boys’ Coach Todd Cantrill, Greenville Police Chief Scott Workman, Bond County Health Department Administrator Sean Eifert, and Bradford National Bank President Mike Ennen & Community Relations Director Randy Alderman. The total for day three came to $6,560.

That brings our three-day total for the pie auction to $18,318 – all to benefit the Lemuel Rhodes Cancer Foundation in their mission to help local folks in their battle with cancer.

We want to thank all of our pie bakers this year. In addition to those today, the list also includes MGHS Principal Bobby Koontz, GHS Principal Kara Harris, GES Principal Eric Swingler, GJHS Principal Gary Brauns, Dusty Bauer & Chris Barth from the FNB Community Bank, Tim Watson from Arthur Young Chevrolet, Bond County Sheriff Jim Leitschuh, Sorento Principal Amy Jackson, Pocahontas Principal Jason Rakers, Tyson Graber of the Greenville First Christian Church, WGEL Farm Reporter Joe Doll, Bond County Board Member Gerald “Spanky” McCray, Greenville Economic Development Director Bill Walker & Greenville Tourism Director Jes Adam.

Thanks to everyone who bid and bought pies, thanks to those who baked pies, and thanks to those who made donations.

Don’t forget, the Lemuel Rhodes Cancer Foundation’s Annual Celebration of Life Festival is Saturday at the American Farm Heritage Museum.
