GHS Celebrates Homecoming With Parade

Weather was excellent for the Greenville High School homecoming parade Friday.

The theme was Fairy Tales.

Wendy Porter, who retired at the end of last school year as school principal, was grand marshal.

Each school class had floats in addition to the FFA, Kingsbury Clippers swim team, and several businesses and churches.

First place among the floats went to the freshman class with an entry based on the big bad wolf.

The second place float featured the cheerleaders, each wearing a crown in a castle scene.

Third place went to the junior class which featured the tea party scene from Alice In Wonderland.

Three bands were in the parade from Greenville High School, Greenville Junior High and Greenville University.

Members of the Class of 1969, who held their 50th class reunion over the weekend, rode in the parade. Members of several GHS sports teams were also in it.
