It’s homecoming week at Greenville High School.
Theme for homecoming is Fairy Tales.
Each day has a special designation.
Monday was Bedtime Stories Day as students wore pajamas, Tuesday is Tweedle Dee-Tweedle Dum Day with students as their favorite duos or twins, Wednesday is Class Colors Day, Thursday is Heroes and Villains Day as students dress as their favorite fairy tale character, and Friday is Blue and White Day.
Class games will take place Wednesday afternoon and a school pep rally is Friday afternoon.
The Homecoming Parade begins at 3:15 p.m. Friday. Entries should lineup on South Second Street, between Summer and Spring avenues. The parade goes through the downtown square, east on College Avenue to Hena Street, then north to the school.
Wendy Porter, recently retired principal at GHS, is the parade marshal.
The Comets Sports Boosters Club will hold its annual homecoming cookout from 11 a.m. until after the parade, on the northeast courthouse lawn in downtown Greenville.
Home sports events the rest of the week include boys soccer on Tuesday, Thursday and Friday, and varsity football on Friday night.
The homecoming dance is in the gym Saturday night, with the queen and king coronation at 8:30 p.m.
