Greenville overcame the heat and their opponent Roxana at home on Thursday. In singles, the Shells claimed 2 of the 3 super tiebreakers to go up 4-2 going into doubles. Despite losing 4 of the 6 singles matches the Lady Comets swept the Shells in all 3 doubles to snatch a 5-4 team victory.
#1 Sarah Brannon fell 6-1, 7-6 (7-3) to Lauren Gegan. #2 Danielle Brand split sets and lost in the supertiebreaker 10-3 to A. Gegan. At #3 Heidi Summers lost 6-3, 6-3 to S. Kamp. #4 Kyra Wells won 6-1, 6-3. #5 Emma Siefken came back to win 4-6, 6-4, 10-5 while Morgan Wilderman fell in her super tiebreaker 3-6, 7-5, 10-5. Brannon/Summers beat L. Gegan/Kamp 8-3. Wells/Wilderman took their pro-set 8-2 while Siefken/Walker completed the sweep w/ an 8-5 win.
