Low Income Home Energy Assistance

BCMW Community Services will begin making appointments October 1 for its Low Income Home Energy Assistance Program.

Only households with persons 60 or older or households with someone currently receiving disability are eligible to make an appointment at this time.

Eligibility is determined by providing 30-day proof of household income from all household members, a current heat and electric bill on an adult household member’s name, and proof of social security numbers for all household members.

If utilities are included in rent, a household may still qualify.

BCMW also has the Percentage of Income Payment Plan for Ameren customers. Applications will be accepted from October 1 through December 31 or until funding runs out. Eligible persons can receive a percentage of their income toward their utility bill.

To make an appointment in Bond County call 664-3309, in Clinton County call 526-7123, in Marion County call 532-7388 and in Washington County call 327-8476. All BCMW offices are in the 618 area code.
