The Greenville Airport Airstravaganza would usually be held this weekend, but a decision was made over a month ago to cancel it for 2019.
Cory Brinkman, treasurer of the Greenville Pilots Association, which sponsors the event, said the cancellation decision was made in anticipation of runway work interfering with the event.
It was not definite the work would be done by the first weekend of October.
It turns out the runway resurfacing was completed ahead of schedule, a couple of weeks ago.
So, the airport’s biggest event of the year, Airstravaganza, will not be held this weekend, but the pilots association will plan for one in 2020.
