Roger Wayne Mollett


Roger Wayne Mollett, age 62 of Springfield, Illinois and formerly of Hillsboro, Illinois, passed away 7:06 a.m. Monday, September 23, 2019 at Memorial Hospital in Springfield, Illinois.

Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m. Thursday, September 26, 2019 at the Donnell – Wiegand Funeral Home in Greenville. Visitation will be held from 10:00 – 11:00 a.m. Thursday at the Donnell – Wiegand Funeral Home in Greenville. Interment will follow in Brown Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the Animal Protective League of Springfield, Illinois.

Roger Wayne, the son of Charles Benedict and Dorothy (Hunter) Mollett, was born July 8,1957 in Highland, Illinois. Roger grew up on the family farm north of Greenville. He attended the local schools and at the age of 6 the family moved west of Hillsboro, Illinois. Roger graduated high school in Hillsboro, Illinois.

Roger moved to Springfield, Illinois and worked for the Illinois State Police, computer programming for 4 ½ years. He then worked for over 25 years for the Illinois Department of Corrections. Roger was a supervisor and retired in 2007.

Roger and Vickie (Seabolt) were united in marriage and later divorced. He married Karen May Noblet on November 8, 1985 at the Westminster Presbyterian Church in Springfield, Illinois. They have enjoyed 33 years together.

Roger is survived by his wife, daughter Audrey Marie Williams and husband Mark of Centerville, Ohio, son Charles Howard May of Chicago, Illinois and his brother Glen Mollett and wife Liz of Auburn, Illinois. Loving grandfather to Ciara Williams, Kayla Williams and Jacob Williams.

Preceded in death by his parents, sister Judy Mollett and brother Randy Mollett.
