Over 150 people interested in Mt. Auburn Cemetery, located at the east edge of Greenville, attended a meeting Monday night to talk about forming a public cemetery association.
Larry Snow, one of the leaders of the cemetery group, was very pleased with the meeting. He told us the meeting went well and a lot of feedback was shared among interested parties. He said many people learned a lot during the eventful evening.

Snow said some at the meeting expressed interest in being on the cemetery association board. He said they will have to decide who is best qualified. The first board must be approved by the state. Approvals will be handled by the county board from there on.

The cemetery is currently owned by a Vandalia couple and Snow said they are willing to transfer it to a public association.
He advised another public meeting will probably be held in January. The date and location will be announced.
