Comets Headed To Football Playoffs Following Win

The Greenville football Comets secured a place in the playoffs by picking up their sixth win of the season at home Friday night.

GHS notched its second shutout of the season with a 27-0 decision over Staunton.

The Comets scored a touchdown in each quarter. It was 12-0 at halftime and 20-0 after three quarters.

Jack Woods scored three of the touchdowns on runs and Logan Doll had the other rushing TD.

Woods rushed for a total of 108 yards. Quarterback Wil Harnetiaux had four pass completions for 105 yards. Isaac Green caught two passes for 63 yards and Payton McCullough caught one for 39 yards.

On defense, Jarin Weber had a big game with over 10 tackles, several of them for a loss of yards, and Nathan Grull intercepted a pass to set up the Comets last touchdown.

The Comets are 6-1 for the season. They play at Gillespie this Friday night.

The game will be broadcast on WGEL.
