First Loss For Football Comets

It was a battle of the unbeatens when the Greenville Comets matched up with the Pana Panthers Friday night at Pana.

The Comets made it close in the third quarter, but could not hold back the Panthers. Pana won 53-27.

Pana jumped out to a 20-7 lead at halftime and made it 33-7 early in the second half. The Comets rallied to score 20 straight points for a 33-27 score with 11:38 left in the game.

Pana bounced back to score three touchdowns in the final nine minutes.

GHS had only 73 yards rushing. Jack woods ran for 52 yards.

Quarterback Wil Harnetiaux completed 17 of 31 passes for 244 yards. Four passes were for touchdowns and Pana had four interceptions.

All four Comet TD passes were caught by Isaac Green. The distances were 80, 35, 1 and 18 yards.

Pana ran for 138 yards and totaled 274 yards in the air with four TD passes.
