The Mulberry Grove Unit 1 school board received good news through its annual audit Monday evening.
Superintendent Steve Phillips said the audit revealed the latest district financial profile score is 4.0, placing Unit 1 in the state’s “recognition” category.
Phillips commented that in recent years the district had been in the review category.
The superintendent advised the improvement this year is due mainly to the better general financial welfare of the district.
The board hired three individuals. Vicki Grobengieser was approved as a paraprofessional in the elementary school, Katie Rosado will coach elementary school basketball and Mark Jones was approved as an assistant coach for the junior high boys’ basketball program.
The Mulberry Grove FFA received permission to attend the national convention in Indianapolis at the end of the month, and speech textbooks were purchased.
