The Greenville Police Department is in the process of developing a list of outdoor surveillance cameras that are in the city.
Police Chief Scott Workman said being on the list is completely voluntary. Residents and business owners are invited to call the police department.
Chief Workman said the registry will be a database of names and addresses of residents with cameras. He said this information will help in the event of a crime in a particular area. He said the cameras could lead to the arrest of a suspect or discovery of a clue.
