Jerome A. Winkeler, age 58 of New Baden, IL, died Monday, September 30, 2019, at Saint Elizabeth Hospital in O Fallon, IL.

He was born on Monday, July 31, 1961, in Highland, IL, the son of Andrew and Genevieve “Jenny” (nee Gnaedinger) Winkeler.

He was a member of St. Rose Catholic Church, St. Rose, IL.

He was born in Highland, IL. He grew up east of Highland and attended Trenton School, Trenton, St. Jude’s School, Aviston, and Carlyle High School, Carlyle. Jerome moved to Aviston in 2001 and worked at Community Link in Breese. Later in August of 2018 he moved to New Baden. He enjoyed pictures, music, dancing, cartoons and family. He loved working and Pepsi Cola.

Niece – Lisa (Seth) Bohnenstiehl, Highland, IL
Great Nephew – Dameon Moss, Eldora, IA
Great Niece – Lilianna “Lily” Winkeler, Highland, IL.

He was preceded in death by:
Mother – Genevieve P. “Jenny” Winkeler (nee Gnaedinger) died 10/20/2007.

Arrangements are being handled by Spengel-Boulanger Funeral Home in Highland, IL.

Visitation will be held from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM on Friday, October 04, 2019, at Spengel-Boulanger Funeral Home in Highland, IL and from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM on Saturday, October 05, 2019, at Spengel-Boulanger Funeral Home in Highland, IL.

Funeral Mass will be at 11:30 AM on Saturday, October 05, 2019, at St. Rose Catholic Church in St. Rose, IL, with Rev. Fr. Edward Schaefer, Pastor, officiating.

Interment will be at St. Rose Cemetery, St. Rose, IL.
