Leroy L. “Butch” Stein, 91, of Highland, IL, died Thursday, October 24, 2019, at the Colonade Senior Living Center, O’Fallon, IL.
Leroy was born June 5, 1928, to Fred and Dorothy (Nee Niemeier) Stein in Granite City, Illinois.
He was a member of Hope Lutheran Church, Highland, IL. Leroy enjoyed being outdoors and fishing. He and his wife loved to play bingo and pinochle with his brothers. He was an avid St. Louis Cardinals baseball fan.
He is survived by his Sons, Terry (Theresa) Stein, O’Fallon, IL, Randy (Sara) Stein, Highland, IL, David Stein, Highland, IL; Grandchildren, Brittney Stein, Gary and Karen Stein, Michael Stein, Andy Sauls; Great Grandchildren, Nolan and Landon Stein, Hunter Laws, Dakota Sauls; Nieces and Nephews.
He was preceded in death by his Parents, Fred and Dorothy (nee Niemeier) Stein; Wife, Mary Stein; Brothers, Harold “Harry” Stein, Wilbur Stein, Roland “Bill” Stein; Sisters, Mildred Foehner, Irma Stein (in infancy); Niece, Sharon Stein; Step-Nephew, John Loden.
Memorials may be made to the Alzheimers Association, Heartland Hospice, or The Heritage Assisted Living.
