Greenville police responded to a call about 5 a.m. last Friday and ended up with a large amount of cannabis and an arrest.
Officers responded to a telephone call about a loud noise at Southland Apartments, off North Fourth Street.
Greenville Chief of Police Scott Workman said when Devin Johnson, age 20, opened the door to his apartment, officers saw a large number of harvested plants, which aroused their suspicions.
After receiving a search warrant, police confiscated the plants and arrested Johnson.
On Monday, Bond County State’s Attorney Dora Mann filed a Class X felony charge against Johnson, alleging possession of over 5,000 grams of cannabis with the intent to deliver it.
Chief Workman advised Johnson allegedly had over 40 pounds of cannabis.
Johnson is being held in the Bond County jail on $10,000 cash bond.
