Illinois State Senator Jason Plummer spoke at the recent Greenville Chamber of Commerce State of the City event.
He addressed the state’s financial situation and the budget that was passed, which he opposed. Plummer said there is currently a lack of fiscal restraint in Illinois.
The state senator told the audience members Illinois has severe money problems. He said until things are more stable, the state will struggle to attract business and jobs. He said there is nothing that Southern Illinois needs more than businesses, jobs, and opportunities.

Senator Plummer commented the State of Illinois is currently not creating an environment which is attractive to businesses moving in or developing in the state.
Plummer represents the 54th Senate District which includes all of Bond, Fayette, Clinton and Marion counties and parts of Effingham Madison, Washington and St. Clair counties.
