It was a big day Wednesday at the HSHS Holy Family Hospital Auxiliary Thrift Shop in Greenville.
The smiles on the faces of shoppers were priceless as they stepped foot into the Thrift Shop for the first time since last April.
A fire on April 22 forced the store to be closed the past six months and Wednesday was the reopening of the store.
Marian Embry, director of volunteer services at Holy Family Hospital, was pleased to see the large number of shoppers Wednesday morning. She said it’s very exciting and is the day they’ve waited for. She said it was almost like Black Friday.
Embry expressed her appreciation to the community for their patience. She said officials knew the Thrift Shop was important to the community, but it wasn’t until it was closed that they realized just how important it was to so many people.
