The Mulberry Grove Aces are back in the championship game of the FNB Community Bank Mulberry Grove Turkey Tournament.
The Aces battled back from an eight-point third quarter deficit to defeat Cowden Herrick-Beecher City 64-54 Friday night.
After the Bobcats went on top 35-27, the Aces scored the next 12 points to go back on top and led the rest of the way. It was 44-41 early in the final quarter when Brant Peterson sank two straight three pointers to open up the lead for Mulberry Grove.
Wyatt Criner had a big offense game, scoring 29 points, 17 in the first half. Kaleb Scoggins overcame foul trouble to record 20 points.
The Aces are 3-0 for the season and in the tournament. They battle St. Elmo-Brownstown at 6 p.m. Saturday for the tourney championship.
The two teams met in last year’s title game with the Aces winning by 7.
