Burlene M. Goslik, age 96 of Highland, IL, died Tuesday, November 05, 2019, at Saint Joseph’s Hospital in Highland, IL.
She was born August 11, 1923, in Springfield, MO, the daughter of Paris and Burline (nee Maddox) Busby.
On September 22, 1940, she married Joseph Goslik at St. Louis, MO, who passed away on January 06, 2008.
She was a former member of First Christian Church Marine; and former member of International Ladies Garment Workers Union – District Council #404.
Burlene was born in Springfield, MO. She grew up in Brandsville, MO on a farm. At age 13 her family moved to St. Louis. After her marriage, she and her husband had lived in St. Louis, then north of Alhambra, IL on his family’s farm. They moved to Marine, IL in 1947 and had lived there until 2006 when they moved to Highland. She had worked at Marine Garment Factory for 18 years, and at Triad School District as a cafeteria worker, playground supervisor and bus driver. She retired from the school district in 1982. Burlene enjoyed camping and travel. She loved visiting the western part of the United States. She enjoyed cooking, crafting, canning, reading and ballroom dancing. She had been a Deaconess at her church.

Visitation will be held from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM on Wednesday, November 13, 2019, at Spengel-Boulanger Funeral Home in Highland, IL.
Funeral Service will be at 3:00 PM on Wednesday, November 13, 2019, at Spengel-Boulanger Funeral Home in Highland, IL, with Pastor Mark McGranahan, officiating.
Interment will be at Marine Cemetery in Marine, IL.
