County Girls Teams In Regional

Seventh grade girls’ basketball teams from Mulberry Grove, Pocahontas and Sorento played in the Pana Sacred Heart Class 7A regional.

In first round action, Mulberry Grove beat Sorento 25-8, then the Eagles lost in the semifinals Monday 34-11 to Pana Sacred Heart.

Pocahontas was seeded second in the regional and had a first round bye.

In its regional semifinal game Monday, Pocahontas fell to Mt. Olive 27-8.

The eighth grade teams of all three Bond County schools have been assigned to the Class 1A regional hosted by Pana Sacred Heart. All games will be played at Tower Hill.

Pocahontas is seeded number one.

Games begin Monday, December 2 with Mulberry Grove against Raymond Lincolnwood at 5:30 p.m. and Sorento plays Mt. Olive at 7 p.m.

Pocahontas plays a semifinal game at 5:30 p.m. December 3 against the winner of the Mulberry Grove-Lincolnwood contest.
