Greenville High Vets Program

The 14th annual Greenville High School Veterans Day program was recently held in the gymnasium.

Forty area veterans attended the event, presented to recognize them for their military service.

The guest speaker was Kyle Sussenbach, who has three daughters attending the high school.

He told the high school students and staff in attendance he served the nation from 1998-2006 and learned many things. He said the most important is the sacrifices men and women in the military make. He recognized three students who sacrificed their upcoming summer break to start their military service early.

The high school band and chorus performed. Several students made special presentations in honor of veterans.

An honor guard from AMVETS Post 140 presented the colors, and high school students, Emma Nord and Nichole Evans played “Taps” and “Taps Echo” on trumpet.
