Veterans Day is Monday and a special ceremony is scheduled at 11 a.m. at the Greenville First United Methodist Church.
It is hosted by AMVETS Post 140 and the Bond County Veterans Memorial Committee.
The local AMVETS members will be joined by others from county veterans organizations in conducting various military parts of the ceremony.
Guest speaker will be Jean Henning, first vice commander of the Illinois Department of AMVETS.
Also participating will be the Greenville High School Chorus, Greenville Elementary School Chorus, members of Boy Scout Troop 57, and the singing group The Nomads.
At 9 a.m. Monday, veterans and others will gather at the Veterans Memorial, on the west side of the courthouse, for the changing of the flags.
The memorial was dedicated to the veterans of Bond County on Veterans Day in 1997.
