Joseph E. “Joe” Bohle

Joseph E. “Joe” Bohle, age 84 of Greenville, passed away Wednesday, November 6, 2019 at Greenville Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Greenville.

Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m. Saturday, November 9, 2019 at the Donnell – Wiegand Funeral Home in Greenville. Interment will follow in Mt. Auburn Cemetery. Visitation will be held Friday from 4:00 – 8:00 p.m. at the Donnell – Wiegand Funeral Home in Greenville. Memorials may be made to Mt. Auburn Cemetery Association or the Greenville First Baptist Church.

Joseph Erwin, the son of William Herman and Lillian Ernest Bohle, was born September 5, 1935 on the family farm. Joe grew up in Bond County, attended the local schools and graduated from Mulberry Grove High School with the class of 1955. He served our country in the United States Navy. He was honorably discharged.

Joseph and Mildred Simmonds were united in marriage on May 9, 1958 at the Greenville First Baptist Church. They have enjoyed 61 years together. They are the parents of 2 daughters: Connie Jo Bohle who preceded them in death and Sandra Dasenbrock and husband Robert of Greenville.

Joe as a young man worked for National Radiator, Suess Farm Supply, Coats Steel and Ball and for Chet Shank. He purchased the business and was the owner and operator of Bohle Oil Company for many years. Joseph farmed most of his life and enjoyed working and spending time with his family.

He is the loving grandfather of 2: Jason Dasenbrock and wife Lindsay and Rachel Lewis and husband Brian. Grat-grandfather of 3: Katelyn, Samantha and Charolette.

Joseph is also survived by siblings: Harry Bohle and wife Luella, Thomas Bohle, Walter Bohle and wife Shirley, Samuel Bohle and Roy Bohle and wife Carol.

He was preceded in death by his parents, daughter Connie Jo, sisters: Donna Bohle Campbell and Mary Margaret Bohle in childhood.
