Karen Maples, age 62 of Greenville, passed away 10:25 p.m. Thursday, November 7, 2019 at Greenville Nursing and Rehab Center in Greenville.
Funeral services 2:00 p.m. Sunday, November 10, 2019 at the Donnell – Wiegand Funeral Home in Greenville with Chris Harnetiaux officiating. Interment will follow in Mt. Auburn Cemetery. Visitation 12:00 Noon Sunday till service time at the Donnell – Wiegand Funeral Home. Memorials may be made online at donnellwiegand.com to help family with funeral expenses.
Karen Sue, the daughter of Elmer Clements Jr. and Frances Marie Blake Clements, was born October 17, 1957 in Highland, Illinois. Karen grew up in Greenville, attended the local schools and graduated from Greenville High School. She worked at DeMoulin Brothers in Greenville for several years and Third Street Market. She loved people and working at the antique store was a perfect fit for her. Karen enjoyed the Bond County Senior’s Center and going out to dinner with friends and family.
Karen and Allan Joe Maples were united in marriage on October 9, 1982. They enjoyed 25 years together. Allan passed away July 21, 2007.
Surviving is her daughter Mindy Maples of Greenville and step children: Jo Ellen Owens, Kimberly McDuffy, Tracey Dope and Kelly Daiber. She was the loving grandmother of twins Austin and Kaleb, Jaydon and Xavier and great-grandmother to Athena.
Karen was one of three children; surviving are Linda Carter and husband Owen and Sandra Willis.
