Naomi June (Kimbro) Meskil, age 88, of rural Greenville, IL passed away Thursday, October 31, 2019 at her home. The family will hold a memorial service on Saturday, November 9, 2019 at 11 AM at The Wisetown Baptist Church. Private interment will be in Wisetown Cemetery. Memorial contributions are suggested to The Wisetown Baptist Church or The Family.
Naomi was born June 17, 1931 in Coffeen, IL to Jacob “Jay” E. and Mary Ellen (Thacker) Kimbro. She married William “Bill” Kimbro on August 7, 1950 in Greenville, IL. He died February 13, 2001. She is survived by her daughter Gina Meskil of rural Greenville and her brother Gary Lane Kimbro of Greenville, IL. She was preceded in death by her husband and two brothers Albert “Zeke” Kimbro and Ronald J. Kimbro.
She grew up in the Donnellson, IL area and attended Oak Grove School. She also attended Greenville Junior High and Greenville High School until her sophomore year when she left to help her family. She and her husband moved to The Beaver Creek area after their marriage.
They then moved to Carlinville, IL. where they ran a Watkins dealership. They lived for a time in Springfield, IL where they worked for John Hobbs and then returned to Carlinville. They moved back to Beaver Creek in 1966. She had worked at Basler Electric and Ammann’s Restaurant both in Highland, IL. She also worked for Quip in Carlyle, IL from 1981 to 1993.
She was a charter member of the V.F.W. Post #1377 Ladies Auxiliary and also a member of the Wisetown Baptist Church. She loved doing outdoor work.
