The Fellowship of Christian Athletes hosts a free Power Camp for area youngsters every summer. But, as with almost all events, with COVID-19 in the picture, alternative plans were required.
Phil Reedy, the local FCA representative, told WGEL the new virtual Power Camp will be held Monday, August 3 through Thursday, August 6, beginning at 10 AM each day. Reedy said the program will begin each day with a special message from area churches and will include video trainings and tutorials from local junior high, high school, and college coaches. He said while organizers realize some aspects will be hard for students to execute on their own, they encourage the youth to get outside and try out what they learn in the videos.
The virtual FCA camp is open to students in fourth grade through high school and will offer instruction in basketball, baseball, softball, football, soccer, tennis, track, and golf.
Registration is free and is open through Sunday, August 2.
