Genevieve Eilers, age 90 of Highland, IL formerly of rural New Douglas, IL passed away on Thursday, August 13, 2020 at the Faith Care Center in Highland, IL.
She was born on Saturday, May 17, 1930 in Old Ripley Township, Bond County, IL. She was the daughter of Orville and Marie (Holcman) Caulk.
Genevieve was married to Elmer E. Eilers on December 18, 1948 in Greenville, IL. Elmer preceded her in death on Sunday, May 14, 1995.
Genevieve was a Homemaker and a member of the Immanuel Lutheran Church in New Douglas, IL. She not only volunteered for social events at her church but also throughout the New Douglas Community. Genevieve was also a former board member of the New Douglas Cemetery Association.
Genevieve is survived by her Son: Richard “Dick” Eilers and his wife Betty of Highland, IL. Daughter-in-law: Suzanne Eilers of New Douglas, IL; 5 Grandchildren: Katie Ambuel, her husband Brad of Carlinville, IL; Wendy Delehaunty her husband Matt of St. Peters, MO; Angie Neske, her husband Matthew of Highland, IL; Mark Eilers, his wife Lauren of Highland, IL; and Shari Meyer, her husband Austin of Pocahontas, IL; 12 Great-Grandchildren: Karly and Jake Ambuel; Kevin and Sarah Delehaunty; Olivia and Scarlett Neske; Maebry, Leo, and Mack Eilers; and Emma, Ava Jo, and Bryce Meyer. Sister-in-law: Lucille Caulk.
She was preceded in death by her Parents, her Husband, her Son: Roger (who died on Monday, June 15, 1992), and her Brother: Gilbert Caulk.
It was Genevieve’s desire to have her body cremated and to have a Private Graveside Service and Interment of her Cremains next to her husband and son in New Douglas Cemetery in New Douglas, IL.
In lieu of flowers Memorial Contributions in memory of Genevieve Eilers can be made to the New Douglas Cemetery, the New Douglas Fire Department, or to the Donor’s Choice and may be directed to the Lesicko Funeral Home at P O Box 7 in Livingston, IL 62058.
