Hickman Verdict To Be Presented Friday

James Andrew Hickman

A date has been set for the presenting of a verdict in the James Andrew Hickman murder case.

When the six-day trial ended on Monday, it was thought the verdict would be presented by Judge Neil Schroeder the week of August 17.

It has been learned the verdict is now scheduled for this Friday, August 7 at 1:30 p.m. in Bond County Circuit Court.

Hickman, age 29 from Greenville, did not testify in the trial. The state called 24 witnesses and the defense four.

The defendant is charged with two counts of first degree murder in the death of his two-month-old son in November of 2018. The state alleges Hickman shook or struck the infant, thereby causing the death.
