The Kaskaskia College Board of Trustees has extended the contract of the college’s president.
George Evans will now be Kaskaskia College president through 2025.
He was appointed interim president in November of 2017 and named the school’s 11th president in June of 2018.
In other personnel matters, the board accepted the resignation of Jeff Brown from Greenville as director of public safety. Brown, a former Bond County sheriff, was hired as the director when Kaskaskia College formed its police department.
According to the college, Brown has accepted a position with the United States Attorney’s Office for the Southern District of Illinois.
Cathy Carrick is retiring as director of public information.
Resignations included Misty Ann Ulmer as coordinator of Healthcare Support Services, Max Timmons as commercial cooking instructor at the Centralia Correctional Center, and Stephen Durbin as construction occupations instructor at the correctional center.
Shelby Guthrie of Carlyle has been hired as coordinator of the Certified Nursing Assistant Program.
The board has established a Human Resources Coordinator position which will have the primary focus of supporting and maintaining the college’s Human Resources Information System, as well as general office administration functions in the department.
