Voters are electing a President of the United States Tuesday.
Incumbent Republican Donald Trump is challenged by Democrat Joe Biden, a past vice-president. There are four other candidates for president, Howie Hawkins of the Green Party, Gloria La Riva of the Socialism and Liberation Party, Brian Carroll from the American Solidarity Party, and Jo Jorgenson from the Libertarian Party.
Richard J. Durbin is seeking re-election to the U.S. Senate. He is a Democrat and was first elected to the Senate in 1996.
Durbin’s Republican opponent is Mark Curran, Jr. Other candidates are Willie Wilson in his own party, David Black from the Green Party, and Danny Malouf from the Libertarian Party.
Two Congressional House positions are on the ballot.
In District 13 for the U.S. House, candidates are Republican Incumbent Rodney Davis and Democrat Betsy Dirksen Londrigan. Only Bond County residents in the townships of Mulberry Grove, LaGrange and Shoal Creek are in the 13th District.
The U.S. House District 15 seat, held for many years by John Shimkus, will be filled by voters. Candidates are Democrat Erika Weaver and Republican Mary Miller. Bond County voters in the 15th District live in Pleasant Mound, Central, Old Ripley, Tamalco, Mills and Burgess Townships.
Also to be elected is an Illinois state representative in the 107th District.
The candidates are Incumbent Republican Blaine Wilhour and Democrat David Seiler. They both ran for the position in 2018.
