Missouri Woman Killed In I-70 Crash


A St. Charles, MO, woman was killed in a crash on I-70 in Madison County Thursday during the noon hour.

Illinois State Police report the still-unidentified 34 year old woman was traveling eastbound on Interstate 70 at Milepost 18 in a passenger car that became stalled in the right lane of traffic.

A semi truck, driven by 25 year old Gursimran Singh, of Nova Scotia, was traveling eastbound in the same area.

After the passenger vehicle stalled, Singh failed to reduce speed and struck the car.

Singh and his passenger were not injured. The driver of the car, the 34 year old female from St. Charles, was pronounced deceased at the scene.

All lanes of I-70 were closed for nearly 4 hours Thursday afternoon for the investigation.
