A Kaskaskia College community engagement meeting was held Wednesday afternoon at the Greenville Education Center.
KC President George Evans was joined by several members of the college’s administrative team. Nineteen people from the Greenville community were in attendance.
Evans said last year was very unusual due to COVID-19.
He reported federal funds were received to help meet the needs of higher education and its students.
That has led to the college starting an initiative known as “No Barriers, No Excuses” to attend college.
Jill Klostermann, director of financial aid, said KC gave out $1.4 million in direct relief to students this past school year. She added that at this time, there are no barriers, including financial, to attending Kaskaskia College.
