Park District Bond Hearing


The Kingsbury Park District Board will conduct a public hearing Monday, January 17 on a proposal to issue non-referendum general obligation park bonds.

The official notice of the hearing states public comments will be received on the possibility of selling bonds in the amount of $650,000 for the payment of land condemned or purchased for parks, for the building, maintaining, improving and protecting of existing land of the district, and for the payment of the expenses incident thereto.

Park District Director Jerry Sauerwein told WGEL $650,000 is the maximum amount the board could sell in bonds. At the hearing, he will present specifics about possible uses of the bond money.

The hearing is at 6 p.m. January 17 at the Kingsbury Park District office, 630 East City Route 40 in Greenville.

The board will not take any action that night regarding the bonds.
