Bond County Broadband Training

Bond County has been invited to be a part of a second cohort of participants in the Accelerate Illinois Broadband Infrastructure Program.

Members of a Bond County committee are currently taking a 14-week training to help in the development of broadband plans to address unique local needs.

The committee has been together for over a year , with the goal of improving internet service for residents and businesses throughout Bond County.

The county’s internet survey is still underway and will provide the local group important data for future attempts to help the internet situation. The survey can be accessed by going to BondCountyIL.gov.

Those without internet access can take the survey by calling 664-0618.

The state training being taken by the local group will position Bond County to effectively leverage newly available state and federal broadband infrastructure funding.

Kaskaskia College is also involved in this session of training.

K.C. President George Evans said the college is thrilled to participate in Accelerate Illinois, and believes it will help achieve the goal of closing the digital divide in Clinton, Fayette, Bond, Marion and Washington counties.
