A groundbreaking ceremony was held last week for an expansion project at Mallinckrodt in Greenville.
The site expansion is a $13 million investment. It will consist of 3,000 square feet of new manufacturing space and 9,000 square feet of warehouse space.
The expansion will be dedicated to the production of acetaminophen.
The current site at Mallinckrodt in Greenville covers 10.3 acres of land and the main facility is about 72,000 square feet, producing acetaminophen and ibuprofen. Products from the Greenville plant are sold to over 40 countries around the world.
The expansion should be completed near the end of 2022 with product available to market in early 2023.
