No Paws In The Park This Year

The Bond County Humane Society has announced Paws in the Park will not be held this year.

According to the society’s Facebook page, the primary reason is the lack of volunteers to organize, set up and conduct the event. In addition, there was a decline in attendance in 2021.

This was to be the 18th Paws In The Park at Patriot’s Park, west of Greenville. Past events have featured a dog costume parade, dog contests, demonstrations and vendors.

The society hopes Paws in the Park can return in September of 2023.

The event has always been the Bond County Humane Society’s biggest fundraiser of the year. Donations continue to be needed to cover expenses to keep the shelter open and promote awareness and education which allows animals and humans to come together for the benefit of both.

More information about how to donate is available at the Bond County Humane Society’s Facebook page.
