For the first time, the Bond County Humane Society is hosting a “Slumber Pawty, Make A Night Count For Shelter Pets” event.
It is part of a 24-hour, nationwide fundraising and advocacy activity.
Mickey Merrifield with the Bond County Humane Society says it’s not too late to be part of the Slumber Pawty.
The first-ever “Slumber Pawty” will run from noon April 18th to noon April 19th. Participants can donate to existing teams or sign up to form a team and spend the night at the shelter while raising money. The event will include food, drinks, games, and time with fellow animal lovers. About six teams have already registered, with more than $1,000 raised so far. Organizers say it’s not too late to donate or participate, and emphasize that all contributions help support animal care, as the organization relies entirely on community funding.
